THE FIRM:
Millennium Law Concepts Inc is a Firm of Legal Practitioners specialized in various branches of the Law. The Firm, established in 2001, presently has experienced Legal Practitioners and Legal Research Consultants within its fold. The Firm runs a full service office in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Support Offices in Port Harcourt, Uyo, Lagos and Aba. Ours is a law firm with a commercial practice, structurally divided between litigation and advisory work- a firm whose elitist clientele base and international best practice modules cuts across every aspect of legal practice. Chief Nkereuwem Akpan as Principal and Dean of Research manages the firm. We have over the years adopted a form of practice whereby each attorney has an area of expertise and specialization. In mid 2007, we were invited by Sir Richard Grozney ex- British High Commissioner to Nigeria to partner with the British High Commission in the area of electoral reforms, women empowerment and the rule of law. While we only recently struck a partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Transparency International (Nigeria) and the Fix Nigeria Initiative in the area of stamping out corruption in the polity through attitudinal changes and complete reorientation of the young ones in our society.

LEGAL PRACTITIONERS

CHIEF NKEREUWEM UDOFIA AKPAN – PRINCIPAL:
Chief Akpan trained at the University of Uyo as well as attended courses in United Kingdom and the United States of America. He is currently the Managing Solicitor, Dean of Research and Principal Partner of Millennium Law Concepts Inc. Chief Akpan’s area of Specialization is Litigation, International Commercial Arbitration/Negotiation, Conciliation, Company Law and Legal Drafting & Conveyancing as well as legal advisory solutions.

He has conducted researches, written articles, attended conferences and seminars nationally and internationally, where he presented papers and discussed those written by others on a wide spectrum of topics spanning about every sphere of law. In early 1998, his pioneering research efforts in natural gas legislation culminated in the publication of his paper titled Natural gas ownership: the true position of the law in Nigeria- the paper, not only received rave reviews in the press but was also celebrated by major players and experts in the energy sector. From 1st- 21st November 2003, he attended a seminar on the theme: “Contracting and contract management” at the Royal Institute of Public Administration (RIPA) 17, Rochester Row, Westminster, London, United Kingdom. At RIPA, he was awarded a specially designed neck-tie embossed with the union jack- specially presented by none other person than the distinguished British scholar, Ron Mountford, in his capacity as Director of studies RIPA. His case reviews, which are masterly conceived, minutely analyzed and incisively executed, are any commentator’s delight. His critique of Nafiu Rabiu v The State (1980, 8-11 SC p 130) - although primarily occupied with the opinion of Sir Udoma is considered by many as rather ambitious and enlightening so to speak. In 2004 he was a member of the Nigerian delegation to the First international Conference on Finance and Economic Crimes held in Hammersmith, London United Kingdom and in 2006 he attended a Course on Foreign Investments Agreements & Investor State dispute settlement mechanism organized by the International Law Institute in Washington DC in conjunction with Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA.

Chief Nkereuwem Akpan has served as Company Secretary and Legal Adviser to many Companies in Nigeria and is presently serving as an external solicitor to the Minister of the FCT Administration and FCDA, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). He is also the Company Secretary and Legal Adviser to Abuja International Hotels Limited (owners of Le’ Meridien/Nicon Luxury Hotel Abuja). As Company Secretary he had helped transform the hotel from public ownership to private ownership. Chief Akpan has served as an in-house Counsel with the Bureau of Public Enterprises where he was saddled amongst other things with the responsibility of conducting Due Diligence on Companies which expressed interest in various privatization transactions, winding up of Companies in preparation for Privatization and Drafting Numerous Agreements to transfer Legal Title to successful firms in the privatization programme.

Chief Akpan has written articles, attended conferences and seminars nationally and internationally yet he has managed to dedicate a huge chunk of his time for charity work and has been involved for well over a decade in charities and providing for indigent litigants, prisoners, the needy, widows and orphans generally in the society. Presently he is on the Editorial Board of Law House Publishing Limited and Continuing Legal Education Project, publishers of Nigerian Weekly Bench Reports (NWBR) and Muhammadu Uwais Law Journal respectively.

ABAYOMI FAMUYIWA ESQ:
Yomi, an Associate, trained at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State where he earned a Second Class lower Degree in Law. He proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where he also earned a Second Class lower Degree. His area of Specialisation is Arbitration, Company Law, Criminal Law and Legal Research. Yomi is an advocate of Civil Liberties and has written many articles.

OMO-OJUGO IMONITIE
Omo-Ojugo Imonitie was trained at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. His area of Specialization is in Energy Law and Environmental Law. He has attended many seminars on Energy Law in Nigeria and has written a number of case reviews on human rights issues.

SALAMATU UMAR MUSA
Miss Salamatu Musa- an Associate was trained at the University of Maiduguri, Borno State. Her area of Specialization is in Criminal Law, Litigation and corporate legal advisory services.

UKPEME AKPAN
Ukpeme Akpan, an Associate, was trained at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State where he earned a Second Class lower Degree in Law and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School. She specialises on Arbitration, Women rights, litigation, Company Law, Criminal Law and Legal Research. She is a member of the chartered institute of arbitrators and is serving in the Executive Body as Secretary of that body in Abuja Nigeria.

MARYAM TALATU LABARAN
Miss Labaran was trained at the University of Jos where she obtained a Diploma in Law in 1999 and an LLB in 2005. She proceeded to the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Bar in 2006. She specialises in drafting and commercial law.

Dim - Udebuani Marcel Esq
was trained at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. His area of Specialization is in Comapny Law and Practice, Litigation etc. He has attended many seminars on Comapny Law in Nigeria and has reviwed a number of cases on rights issues
